About the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program
The Oregon Master Beekeeper Program is a cooperative effort between Oregon State University and the Oregon State Beekeepers Association. The program is focused on educating beekeepers for the purpose of ensuring the health of honey bee colonies throughout the region.
- The program offers three levels of certification: Apprentice, Journey, and Master.
- Classes are held at OSU as well as online, and at various other locations throughout the state.
- Notably, the OSU Master Beekeeper program is one of the only master beekeeper programs in the country that requires mentoring.
- The program is affiliated with the Oregon State University (OSU) Honey Bee Lab

About Jan Lohman
Jan Lohman, a partner at Vazzi Farms, located in Hermiston, Oregon, has had a major influence on establishing and growing the Oregon State Master Beekeepers program. In addition, she offers her time to help educate both new and well-established beekeepers on new information and techniques related to insuring colony health.
